Antofagasta is a Chilean-based copper mining group with interests in transport and water distribution. The Group's mining division, Antofagasta Minerals, is also actively involved in exploration in Chile, elsewhere in the Americas, Europe and Africa. In addition, the Group operates an extensive rail network servicing the important mining region of northern Chile. Total copper production by 2011 is expected to be over 700,000 tonnes per year.
