Established in 2004, the Rail Corporation New South Wales is a provider of passenger railway services. The corporation owns, operates, and maintains the Sydney suburban and interurban rail network under the CityRail brand, as well as a rural passenger services under the CountryLink brand. In 2008-09, RailCorp managed over 305 million passenger journeys. RailCorp also provides access to freight operators in metropolitan areas.
