The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is the public transit service provider for the majority of San Diego County. Average daily ridership exceeds 280,000. MTS also licenses and regulates taxicabs, jitneys, and other private for-hire passenger transportation services provided contract for San Diego and surrounding cities.
