Uralkali is one of the world’s leading producers of potash fertilizer and one of Russia’s largest chemical companies. The company now has a share of around 10% of the global market for potash fertilizer and ranks among the top 30 Russian companies by market capitalization.
Uralkali’s major production facilities are located in the city of Berezniki, in the Perm territory, and consist of two mines and four enrichment plants. Uralkali’s reserves are located in the Verkhnekamskoye potassium and magnesium salt field in Perm, which is the world’s second largest proven deposit with more than 3.8 billion tons of ore. Uralkali’s location in Russia gives the company significant cost advantages over its competitors in other geographies and has helped cement its position as one of the world’s leading potash producers.
